Midsummer Music

Midsummer Music began as a way of bringing the Midsummer Ensemble, Midsummer Quartet and the Ringerike Ceilidh Band to those who loved music and wanted good music for their weddings and functions. Over a number of years, this grew to include the music groups of friends and colleagues around the country.

Today, Derek Walker, (who leads the founding music groups), his wife Margaret and our musical colleagues are pleased to be able to offer you a wide range of live music covering the Classical, Jazz, Folk and Party Music. Email or phone us to discuss your requirements. We are here to help you.

Midsummer Music is based in Malvern, Worcestershire, a Victorian spa town with a long history of musical connections. Edward Elgar lived here for many years, walking on the Malvern Hills to gain inspiration for his great works. Jenny Lind [the "Swedish Nightingale"] also lived here, and both are buried in the Malverns. Malvern is also the home of the English Symphony Orchestra, whose CDs are popular throughout the world, and the Chandos Symphony Orchestra. Also, the violin virtuoso, Nigel Kennedy has made the Malverns his home.
